What Tech Stars is
Tech Stars is a classroom points system run by teachers at Hawar International School, Bahrain. Students earn points (XP) for good learning habits, collect badges and choose small classroom rewards.
What we keep about students
- Name, class and school ID (used to log in)
- Points, badges, rewards chosen and the reason for each point
- Attendance marks (present, late, absent, excused) for the subject
- Work still to be handed in, taken from Google Classroom
- The character the student designs, their weekly goal and certificates
- The password, stored only in scrambled (hashed) form. Nobody, not even the teacher, can read it.
What we keep about parents
Email address, name, a scrambled password, which child is linked to the account, and messages sent to and from the teacher.
Who can see it
- Students see their own points, history and work, and the leaderboard of their own class (names, XP and badges only).
- Parents see only the children they linked with the private code from the teacher. They never see teacher notes or other students.
- Teachers see only their own classes. The system owner (Mr. Mahmood Mansoor, ICT) can view all classes to support teachers.
- Nothing is sold, shared with advertisers or made public.
Where it is stored
On a secure cloud database (Supabase, through Lovable Cloud) with access rules that block anyone who is not signed in as the right person. Connections are encrypted (HTTPS). The site does not use advertising or tracking cookies; it only remembers your sign-in and language on your own device.
How long we keep it
Points and records are kept for the school year. At the end of the year the teacher downloads an archive for the school and clears or resets the classes. Parent accounts can be removed at any time on request.
Emails
Tech Stars does not send automatic emails. Messages to parents are sent by the teacher in person, through the parent page or from the teacher's school email.
